About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced EUS Architect to define and govern the target-state modern workplace architecture within a large-scale, multi-entity transformation program.

In this role, you will lead the technical design of Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, endpoint management frameworks, and domain and identity transition models. You will translate enterprise-level strategy into executable site-level and operational designs, while ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and data governance standards.

You will work closely with workplace, identity, infrastructure, and security teams, as well as external implementation partners, to define migration patterns, validate designs, and oversee technical execution throughout the program lifecycle.

This role requires proven experience in complex, enterprise-scale workplace and tenant migration programs. Candidates without prior multi-tenant or large-scale consolidation experience are unlikely to ramp up quickly.

Tasks & Responsibilities
1. Modern Management & Device Architecture

  • Define and own the target-state modern workplace reference architecture, including endpoint management, provisioning standards, compliance baselines, and application packaging/deployment models.
  • Architect the device migration approach across multiple locations and entities, including phased or selective rollout strategies:
    • Device re-imaging and re-provisioning to target standards
    • Autopilot readiness and enrollment flows
    • Conditional Access, identity, and compliance policy alignment
  • Provide architectural guidance for site-dependent device transitions (e.g., printers, scanners, badge readers, network-dependent assets) tied to future network and directory states.

2. Microsoft 365 Tenant Migration Architecture

  • Lead technical design for:
    • Exchange Online migration (mailbox moves, routing, coexistence strategy, domain/SMTP approach)
    • SharePoint Online migration (information architecture, site mapping, restructuring, migration waves)
    • OneDrive migration (user mapping, redirection, data movement strategy)
    • Teams migration (teams/channels structure, chat handling, app integrations)
  • Define cross-tenant coexistence and segregation principles until final consolidation.

3. Domain & Identity Transformation Support

  • Partner with identity and domain architects to design:
    • Domain consolidation and directory integration models
    • User, group, and application readiness strategies
    • Device domain transition sequencing and edge-case handling
  • Provide architectural input into major identity transition milestones and enforce segregation principles during transitional phases.

4. Site Migration Design & Readiness

  • Translate enterprise-level architecture into site-level execution blueprints, including:
    • Migration runbooks
    • Network readiness dependencies
    • Peripheral compatibility and transition planning
    • Hypercare and local IT support models
  • Support regional and local IT teams with readiness assessments, tooling preparation, and architectural oversight during execution.

5. Cross-Organizational Integration & Collaboration

  • Engage with technical leads and external implementation partners to align on dependencies, integration patterns, and execution sequencing.
  • Lead joint design sessions, develop high-level and low-level designs (HLDs/LLDs), and participate in solution validation workshops.
  • Ensure alignment with program governance frameworks and cross-entity access policies.

6. Security, Compliance & Data Governance

  • Embed security baselines across all architectural designs (e.g., MFA, Conditional Access, data protection controls, device compliance).
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams on data residency, retention, audit, and regulatory considerations during migration.
  • Ensure solutions meet regulatory, contractual, and access-segregation constraints throughout transition phases.

7. Documentation, Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Own technical HLDs, LLDs, architectural decisions, design patterns, and migration playbooks.
  • Provide architectural oversight during execution, validating readiness gates, enforcing standards, and monitoring architectural debt.
  • Proactively identify risks, define mitigation strategies, and manage architectural dependencies.

8. Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Communicate architectural decisions clearly to infrastructure leadership, workplace teams, program stakeholders, and local IT.
  • Prepare executive summaries, migration status inputs, and architecture decision records.

Your Profile

1. Technical Expertise

  • Extensive experience in Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, particularly multi-tenant consolidations.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Endpoint management and provisioning frameworks
    • Azure AD / Entra ID and hybrid identity models
    • Exchange Online migration frameworks
    • SharePoint and OneDrive migration tooling
    • Teams migration and coexistence design
  • Solid understanding of identity, security, conditional access, and compliance architectures.
  • Experience with site-level IT transitions (networks, devices, peripherals).

2. Project & Architecture Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in end-user services or modern workplace architecture.
  • Ability to produce HLDs/LLDs, lead structured design workshops, and influence diverse technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with global teams and external implementation partners.

3. Soft Skills

  • Strong communicator capable of simplifying complex technical decisions.
  • Comfortable operating in high-velocity transformation environments.
  • Structured, proactive, and confident managing ambiguity.

4. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting complex organizational transitions or M&A programs.
  • Familiarity with large-scale domain consolidation initiatives.
  • Experience working in environments with distributed, site-based IT operations.
